Whoa, this post is long overdue.
Oops.
Anyways, March was a pretty big month for us. We bought a new to us Mercedes. Charlie has had his M3 for over 9 years now, and she’s needing more and more work.
Unfortunately, with 3 kids, we can not function as a 1 car family. We’ve tried. It’s just too stressful.
Now he can take her to the shop and just get all the things he’s been putting off taken care of. He may even turn her into a track car. Maybe. I think he would miss driving her around toown if he did that. She’s kind of his baby.
Dreaming of a Porche.
Late February Charlie got the “car bug” and started sending me pictures of newer BMWs. I started sending him pictures of Porches. Big Jump, I know.
We tend to be extreme like that.
We were both head over heels in love with her. She was a hybrid so we took time and really thought it out. When the battery failed it would be some serious cash to replace it, among other things that kept popping in our heads.
Long story short, we decided a Panamera would not be ideal for a teenage driver. Our oldest will be 16 and driving in 18 short months so we had to factor him into our next purchase.
Now, don’t choke on your coffee. This will NOT be his car. He will get to drive it, yes. It will still be ours.
We live close enough to the school, so he won’t need his own car. He will just share with us.
So why Mercedes?
I’ve always had an obsession with the brand. I’m not really sure why. When I started sending listings, Charlie was intrigued. The price was much more reasonable than the Porche and at a price we wouldn’t mind lending to a teen driver. So we became a 3 car family and we can switch between my van and the Mercedes. Win-win.
She’s a 2014, has about 46k miles and is in near mint condition. We couldn’t be happier with our choice.
I’ll just keep dreaming of a Porche…
Until then, isn’t she pretty???

She’s so pretty! I need to get my BMW cleaned up… I’ve scratched up the paint on the inside of the doors and some of the doors have snags in it… keep wondering if super glue will work… def. avoiding duct tape on my baby. Haha
Hope she’s treating you right. Do you have any hints on how to keep her from getting more dinged up?

Not really. Just be super careful and use a towel to help soften the dings.
