Hello and thank you for stopping by the relaunch of my Stylish Gimp blog. You can giggle. It’s okay. It’s not ALWAYS a bad word. Let’s kick up our feet and dive in to who I am and what this Blog is all about!
If you’re completely new, I’m Priscilla and I am stay-at-home mom to 3 boys, ages 7-13 (summer 2018). I am married to Charlie and we will celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary in December. Where, oh where does the time go!?
My youngest baby started kindergarten in 2017 (sad face) and I decided to take a break from my Mommy blog. My boys are way beyond the age of wanting me to write about them, so I have to respect those boundaries.
Welcome! (Again)
I’m sure I will still find myself on the other side from time to time, but for now this is my new space, so WELCOME!!
I have missed the blogging community so very much but I desperately needed that break so I could just soak in my new normal. It was the first time in almost 13 years that I did not have a little one at home. It’s a strange feeling. I think I like it, but I do miss squishy little fingers and toes.
Oh, but wait. It’s the middle of summer. I actually do have my kids (plus some, sometimes!) home and I am not afraid to admit I’m loving (mostly) every minute and I am not ready for them to go back. Wine may or may not be helping.
Every person who knows me, knows I love clothes. What better solution than to relaunch my very old, very defunct fashion/style blog? I have decided to keep all my old posts on the other blog and start fresh and new here.
If you want to take a look back, you can check out my old fashion posts here.
My primary focus will be mainstream clothes and how I find pieces at regular department stores and resale shops (my favorite!!). I make all these pieces work when sitting down (duh). Some items are better than others and even standing women have issues with fit. Am I right?!
Let’s kick off this party with three of my favorite recent outfits. Ironically I’m only wearing 1 thrifted piece. That will not be the norm.
The Baby Shower
I wore this bright and cheerful dress to my niece’s baby shower. She’s having a sweet baby girl, so the pink was an obvious choice. I’m tickled pink to be a great aunt again. This will be a bittersweet birth, as it will be the first baby born after losing my mom.

The Impulse Summer Favorite
I picked up this fantastic top at Marshall’s. It screams summer. I was a little scared at first but now I’m kind of in-love. The shorts are some mega high end brand but I think I paid less than $5. Yay, goodwill!! I love finding amazing pieces for pennies on the dollar.

The Workhorse Playsuit
This cabi jumpsuit (actually called the playsuit!) has been a major go-to. It’s incredibly comfortable and versatile. I can lounge on the couch in it or bling it up for date night. I don’t say this often, but it was well worth the triple digit price tag. ($118 ish) Cabi wins, yet again. They are usually my biggest splurges of the year.

Love it! Love your great style and focus on thrifting! Do you happen to know anything about the ethics or sustainability of Cabo? Just curious where they are at on the fast fashion continuum. I’ve never splurged but I have thrifted Cabo before! Congrats on your relaunch! I look forward to following along and hopefully one day we can thrift IRL together!!
xoxo Nicole

Cabi? I honestly don’t but I do know they have 3-4 pieces a year and for every piece from that selection purchased they donate funds to a woman in need. It’s called the heart of cabi.

Silly question but I would love to wear more short dresses/skirts for summer but my knees want to man spread! Do you have a specific cushion you use or a special taper to your chair that keeps your knees from showing off your under guchies (my mom called them that).
I got a literal potato sack from old navy (way too big) but it’s soooo comfy… your Cabi jumpsuit is FANTASTIC!

I’m in the narrowest chair i can possibly fit in, so that might help but honestly I think it’s just the way my hips are turning. I think it’s good luck/bad luck. I truly wish I could answer this question in a more helpful manner.
I have other girlfriends who just loosely tie a scarf around their thighs to keep their legs together.

Very interesting blog, great advice, thanks !!!
In the future, will you make style vlogs in a youtube channel?
Priscilla says
Possibly!
