What I wore, quick edition

This is all I have for you this week. It’s been one of THOSE weeks.

You know, where you attempt to dress presentably but you just never finished and your hair looked like crap and you looked like you hadn’t slept in weeks?

Yeah, that was my week.

I managed to have DS snap this one yesterday and I had little makeup on and my hair wasn’t even brushed.

Time change has been a nightmare.

My FIRST Birchbox

I know it’s hard to believe but six weeks ago I had no idea what Birchbox was. In comes the Stylish Housewife and I immediately signed up. I wasn’t the only one wanting a piece of the action so I had to wait. I got my invite and quickly filled out the profile and handed over my credit card number. SO there you know this is NOT a paid or compensated post. I’m just jumping on the bandwagon and doing what everyone else does. Why not?!

I am sad to say that I am a bit bummed about my first box.

Ghirardelli – I was pretty sure I was supposed to get 5 items to sample and I don’t consider a 0.20 piece of chocolate to be sample worthy. Yes, I liked it. I buy this brand of chocolate regularly. It’s cheap and a tiny notch above Hershey’s.

Juicy Couture LaLa – I won’t run out and buy this, but it was pleasant and I will gladly use the entire sample.

Dr. Jart + black label detox BB beauty balm – I will state the positive FIRST. I made my skin feel firm by the end of the day. However, the color made me look about 4 shades lighter than I actually am and the coverage wasn’t worth a dime. It made me look pastey and did nothing for my blemishes. Along with making my skin feel firm it also made it feel dry and uncomfortable. I will NEVER buy this.

Beauty Protector – Protect and detangle – This alone was worth the box. I am in love. The smell is subtle but very pleasant and it made my hair soft, shiny and manageable. I haven’t used any heat on my hair this time but I plan to next time just to test that part of it. I sprayed it on after my shower and went to bed. My hair was pleasantly tame the next morning. After I finish the bottle I will most likely be ordering this and will be tempted to see what other products they have.

Nail Polish by color Club Fiesta Collection in Wild Cactus – This was another one that made the box worth it. I get shellac on my hand so I had to test it on my toes. The coverage was amazing and I love green. When I was a little girl I wanted EVERYTHING to be “GEEN”. My toes thank you. They were tired of the purple/pink shade that had been on them for a few weeks. So far I am happy with well it’s stayed on but then again my toes rarely chip.

What I’m Wearing

I’m surprised that this week has gone so quickly with my husband gone.

I guess having my Mom here has it’s benefits.

I’m going to REALLY miss my mom, but on the other hand?

We really need to get back to OUR routine, KWIM?

The big question is how will the next 4-5 days go?

Well, on the plus side we got a little shopping in and I finally bought a chambray top. I paired it with my mint skinny cords.

I picked up this springy top at Good Will. It’s GORGEOUS but fits kinda funny and bunchy – from certain angles I looked pregnant.  Let’s not go there again anytime soon. If ever.

This has been one of my favorite tops and how could it NOT be? Anything I get from Anthro is just amazing and awesome.

I **ALWAYS** get compliments when I wear it.

I guess I should wear it every. single. day.

What I’m wearing

This is a challenging week.

I debated playing along at all.

My husband left for NYC on Sunday (10th) and will be gone until late on the 23rd.

It’s not easy remember to snap a picture when you are running around after 3 kids all by yourself.

I deeply respect single moms and military families.

Ok. Here goes.

I finally bought a bubble necklace. LOVE.

What I’m Wearing

It’s been another crazy week.

My closet is STILL NOT FINISHED but I do have this for you:

I tried to get this written LAST night but that did not happen.

I almost forgot about a meeting I had so, clearly I was there instead of here with a glass of wine writing to you.

When I got home I was trying to make a final decision about what MATH to order for my son. He’s about to wrap up one year and we are ready to start the next. We aren’t done with the entire year, JUST math.

So on this rainy February morning I bring you these  outfits.

I LOVED this outfit. I can’t wait to tell you about MOSS, the store where I got the top, but I’ve been to lazy to fix my hair, much less blog about shopping, so you will have to wait. :-)

What I’m wearing.

Hi.

Me again, but I guess you knew that.

Last week was a GREAT week.

My husband took the entire week off and gutted my closet.

He painted, installed Elfa shelves, painted the ceiling PINK and ALMOST put in a chandelier.

Well  - -HE DID. I just watched.

The chandelier is actually NOT in yet. It just arrived today and the ceiling needs ONE MORE coat.

I hope I can show you everything next week!

As you can see, I like pink.

We had amazing weather most of the week so I sat outside with the kids for about 2 hours while they played and whined about about playing outside.

They actually had the nerve to ask me if they could bring the ipad outside and play on it out there instead of playing.

Oh, boy.

I think my 8 year old may have a future in photography though. This is UNEDITED.

This was a FUN outfit. I wasn’t entirely sure what to wear with these Celery colored jeans (yellowy green), so I paired them with black and white for simplicity — for now. I may WILL get more daring/brave later and find something with more color to pair them with.

I totally forgot to get a picture of this one until it was dark, and we were headed out for date night. (We went to Cheesecake Factory, because I know you were wondering.) I really like the combo. Sorta. The pants I have doubts about. I need to find another pair of HOT PINK pants. It’s only the 2nd-3rd time I’ve worn them but they fit strange. I guess that means they should go into the donate pile!? Or I should try them a few more times. Decisions.

This is a casual mommy look. I’m torn on the top. I bought it at Ross and the high turtle neck bugs me. This is the first time in 2 years I’ve ACTUALLY worn it all day. It’s a BEAUTIFUL print but I’m not completely sure I want to keep it forever.

closet makeover

I am SO excited!

I’ve been BEGGING my DH to help me organize my closet for over FOUR years now!

We bought ELFA today!!

I will start emptying it out tonight and tomorrow we will do the “demo” and paint.

We have plans to visit family on Wednesday and HOPEFULLY we can get it all up on Thursday!
